Family data policy · version 2026-10 · draft for review
What Atlas keeps, and why
About your child
- A first name or nickname, so the screen can say hello. Not a surname.
- A school year, so we can place them on the pathway. Not a date of birth.
- Their maths answers (40 characters at most), their progress on each skill, and the dates of checks. Nothing else they type is kept, because there is nowhere else to type.
No email, no password, no photo, no messaging, no advertising, no tracking cookies. Children under 13 never sign in; they use learner mode on your device.
About you
Your email address, so you can sign in, and the date you agreed to this policy. We send sign-in links and nothing else unless you ask.
Your rights
You own your family's records. From your family page you can download everything we hold about a child, or delete it completely. Deleting removes it from our live systems straight away and from backups within 30 days. We keep nothing for marketing.
Where it is kept
On servers in London, run by Supabase, with access restricted to the Open Education Project. Learning records can only be written by the Atlas server, never directly by a browser.
Sharing
We share a child's progress only with people you invite, such as a tutor, and you can stop that at any time. We never sell or share records for any other purpose. Anonymous totals (such as how many children secured a skill) may be used to improve the lessons.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will ask you to agree again before anything new happens.
